We currently do not have an established location. Lessons typically take place at David’s house in Spring Valley. Go to Contact to see where in Spring Valley. Because it’s a residence, we keep the address private until the first lessons in scheduled.
Yes! As long as it works with our schedule and the location is close enough.
Not yet, but we hope to soon! If you’re wanting to do online lessons due to health complications, distance, or scheduling challenges, please reach out and tell us. The more people that express interest the better!
As long as it’s something specifically requested by the client. We are not a ministry, and we do not teach our faith with anyone who is unwilling. Our faith is something we’re proud of, but it’s not something we incorporate in our curriculum. We do have Christian literature, but that is not a tool of evangelism or worship in what we teach during our lessons. For information and reasons on the Christian literature we provide, please click here to learn more.
We respect everyone’s right to belive . That’s why we aren’t ashamed of ours. We only provide a Christian-based education if both the student and the parent, or a school we work with, expresses interest. Other than that, we provide basic music education accessible for everyone.
For most students, tuition is due at the start of each month. For charter school students who receive enrichment funds, tuition is still paid up-front, but the frequency is up to the school and the parent. We don’t do anything less than a month.
Yes and no. We chose Christian hymns because they are public domain. They also utilize simple melodies that are uniquely American. We chose some other European Christian hymns because they have directly affected the abolitionist movement in Europe. Amazing Grace was written by a former slave ship captain and is a song sang across the world despite people’s religious convictions.
Other Christian hymns were chosen because of the immense Christian faith in our nation’s history. These hymns have inspired strong cultural movements and have greatly impacted music literature. The same thing goes for several secular works. The blues, for instance, great affected the church and became intertwined with gospel music and jazz. These are important historical landmarks for our country’s culture. Country music, Pop, Soul, RnB, Rock n Roll and more have been influenced by the same compositional techniques used by Hymns, the Blues, and Negro Spirituals, all religious akin to Judeo-Christian beliefs.
Other people groups are certainly important. Our country is unique because it’s been built by different peoples believing in a similar goal.
However, not every people group has influenced culture equally. We don’t exclude those different cultures from our repertoire, however, they are not our focus. We focus primarily on the genres of music that have shaped our culture the most. For instance, the Irish and the Italian people groups were very influential, but Irish music has influenced American music more, and is found in Appalachian Folk music as well as Bluegrass, which are precursors to Country music, one of the largest music movements in our nation.
We are not opposed to other cultures or countries, we just focus on ours and how ours has been shaped the most.
